John Sands claimed all three goals as Mildenhall Town maintained their perfect start to the Ridgeons League season with a 3-1 victory at Wisbech Town.
Sands' hat-trick took his tally for the season to five already, but he had to have special thanks for Luke Catchpole who set up the striker's trio of goals.
Visiting Mildenhall set out their stool early and could have taken the lead after just 10 seconds. Full-back David Cooper, back from a three game suspension, released livewire Danny Partridge but the forward lifted his effort over the crossbar.
Their dominance finally paid off with 10 minutes played. Catchpole won possession before threading a clever pass to Sands. The forward turned inside before unleashing a curling left footed effort from 20 yards which flew into the top left hand corner of the net.
Having fallen behind the hosts battled their way back into the game and goalkeeper Josh Pope displayed great bravery to deny Lewis Thompson the chance of an equalizer.
With 35 minutes played Scott Cubberley burst through the Mildenhall defence, but as he shaped to shoot Cooper produced a terrific tackle when a goal looked certain.
After surviving the battle of the first half, Mildenhall produced some slick passing football in the second to secure the points.
Their advantage was eventually doubled on 57 minutes. Luke Bailey found Catchpole with a raking diagonal pass which the midfielder controlled neatly. He then lifted the ball into the path of Sands who chested the ball down before turning the ball in from close range.
Just three minutes later the points, and Sands' treble were secured. Ryan Foster found Catchpole on the right wing who whipped in an inviting first time cross which Sands volleyed home with ease.
With 10 minutes remaining the hosts grabbed a consolation when a deep corner beat Pope following a deflection from Catchpole.
The impressive Catchpole also had the last chance of the match, but he somehow turned the ball over from six yards, thus failing to grab the goal his performance deserved.
